What does WWKP mean? World
Wide Knitting in Public Day. We held WWKP on Sunday, November 9.
Instead of just knitting to show the community that people still DO
knit, we decided that it would be better to have a community service
project as well.
We chose to knit sweaters to fit stuffed bears. Plymouth Yarns donated
ENCORE WORSTED. Everyone had yarn to knit with and you should have seen
the variety of sweaters. We had 18 stitchers that started outside (and
some went inside to keep cool.) As we knitted, people were passing by
to and from Publix and saw what we were doing. Thanks to one of our
customers, Blanca Adornos, who has a special talent, patrons were donating
bears and dollars towards our efforts! Thanks Blanca!
It’s funny, when we do community service, the help comes pouring
in! I was pleasantly surprised !! Bears, reindeer and penguins were
donated by many! Blanca went into Publix and showed one of the assistant
managers what we were doing, and Publix donated 6 animals!
The deadline for the sweaters was Monday, December 1 and our animal
total was over 60! In our shopping center, we have a State Farm Insurance
branch and they were a TOYS FOR TOTS drop off. We brought in all the
toys to them and I received a letter thanking all of our stitchers.
We were also informed that the toys went to the I. Lorraine Thomas Children’s
Home Society.
Ladies, you went above and beyond the call of duty!!
Thank you so much for your time, energy and love! I am so proud of your
efforts!!!! Here’s to our next WWKP!!
RESULTS
OF DECEMBER SPECIAL
We held a December Special,
which ended December 23. With every $50 purchase your name was placed
into a drawing for one of three $25 GIFT CARDS to PUBLIX. The three
winners of the GIFT CARDS were:
Fern Gerber, Sandy Grodin and Shoshy Roback. Congratulations to all
of you. I hope that we helped during the holidays!

PROGRAM
We have started a new REFERRAL PROGRAM.
We are handing out referral cards to you, our current customers. Do
you know of any stitcher or "want to be stitcher"
that has not been to our store? Write your name and telephone
number on the space provided before giving them the card. When they
come into the store and spend $20 or more, they get
$5 OFF their purchase.....PLUS....YOU
GET $5 OFF your next purchase of $20 or more
as a "THANK YOU"! So start thinking of anyone
that doesn't know about our store!! The more people you refer to us
and come in, the more "THANK YOU" dollars
you'll receive!
