TOYS FOR TOTSBEAR SWEATERSOur latest community project was knitting sweaters for stuffed bears. These bears will be donated to Toys for Tots and will be going to any of the local childrens' charities. The project kicked off on November 6, when we had 30-35 stitchers at the shop. They adopted bears for $3 and began kntting the sweaters. There were also some customers that couldn't make it for the kick off event, but adopted bears anyway. ALL 96 bears were adopted! Our customers are such caring people and always answer the call for charitable causes. We are so appreciative of our knitting community and we are sure the children will cherish these bears.When everyone completed knitting their sweaters, they were given an "adoption" paper so that they could sign their name and give the bear a name for it's recipient! The "adoption" paper was insterted into the back opening of the bear. Below are some pictures from the event. Again, thanks to everyone.  |
